What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal uses concentrated beams of light to target and destroy hair follicles, inhibiting future hair growth. The laser's energy is absorbed by the hair's pigment, damaging the follicle while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. This process leads to a gradual reduction in hair thickness and density, ultimately resulting in long-term hair reduction.

What to Expect During a Laser Hair Removal Treatment:
During a laser hair removal treatment, you can expect a comfortable experience thanks to a topical anesthetic applied to the target area. Our skilled physicians will then use a handheld device to deliver precise laser pulses, targeting individual hair follicles. Depending on your needs, we may utilize advanced techniques that combine laser energy with radiofrequency. Because hair grows in cycles, and laser treatment is most effective during the active growth phase, multiple sessions are necessary. Typically, you'll need 3-5 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart, though this may vary based on your hair texture and the treatment area. Throughout the process, we prioritize your comfort and safety, ensuring a smooth and effective hair removal experience.
Who is Laser Hair Removal For?
Laser hair removal works by targeting the melanin (pigment) in hair follicles. Traditionally, the most effective results have been seen in individuals with dark hair and light skin. However, advancements in laser technology have significantly improved treatment options for those with darker skin tones. While removing light-colored hair (blond, red, gray, or white) remains challenging, ongoing research and development are exploring new techniques to expand treatment possibilities.
Potential Side Effects and Downtime:
The most common complication of laser hair removal is the regrowth of the unwanted hair. Frequently, however, the hair that regrows is finer and lighter than the hair that was removed. Usually, regrowth can be addressed with a few additional treatment sessions. Other complications that may arise after laser hair treatment include: mild redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn, which usually subsides within a few hours and temporary skin irritation or pigmentation changes (rare). There is minimal to no downtime; most clients can resume normal activities immediately.
Important Pre- and Post-Care Instructions:
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 4-6 weeks before and after treatment.
Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams for at least 4 weeks before treatment. Shaving is allowed.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
Apply sunscreen daily.
